Some setbacks, but a lot of information
There might not have been an E3 this year, but that didn’t stop Xbox/Bethesda from coming out swinging! For the better part of 90 minutes, Xbox teased a bunch of games, with developers ranging from their in-house studios to Bethesda, and even a snippet of a Kojima/Xbox collaboration. Let’s go over what I’m personally excited for, shall we?
Starfield looking like a banger
Bethesda finally showed us more of what Starfield looks like, rather than just a title screen. Starfield takes place beyond the solar system, making you part of a space-exploring organization called the Constellation. Your character is fully customizable, much like Bethesda’s other RPGs like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. The game can also be played in either first person or third person. You control how your character plays and develops throughout the game. You can adjust your ship, recruit crewmates, and engage in space fights. The downside to all this goodness: we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer to play, as Starfield was pushed back from November 2022 to “Early 2023.” If you didn’t catch the gameplay demo yourself, check it out above.
The next Forza Motorsport is finally coming
Microsoft showed off their racing sim, a game in the same lane as Sony’s Grand Turismo, and it’s looking better than ever. Simply titled Forza Motorsport, it’s not clear if it’s a sequel to Forza Motorsport 7 (which released in 2017) or a re-launch of the brand for the Series X/S. As with past Motorsport games, the focus is on realism. The devs are hard at work to provide dynamic time-of-day and better car damage to all vehicles, as well as adding a new tire and fuel management system, meaning players will have to watch their fuel consumption and tire usage in order to hit the pits for those longer races. With all this time spent on detail, it’s shaping up to be an even better-looking game than Forza Horizon 5. The release window is Spring 2023.
And speaking of Forza Horizon 5…
Horizon 5 gets the Orange Tracks
Looks like Horizon 5 is going back to the ways of Hot Wheels!! We haven’t seen the likes of those since Horizon 3. Lets just hope there’s more madness than last time. I’m hoping for bigger loops, longer jumps, and of course: those crazy Hot Wheels cars! Expect to see the expansion July 19th, 2022.
Naraka Bladepoint is Console-Bound
The PC-exclusive Battle Royale is finally making its way to Xbox this month on the 23rd. It will be shipping with crossplay and a campaign for those that want more to the story. I haven’t been too into the Battle Royale scene, but this one kinda excites me.
Hideo Kojima with Xbox?

That’s right! The Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding director is making a game exclusive to Xbox. Not much is known about the game in question – only that it will make use of the Series X to push the console’s graphical capabilities to new heights. Stay tuned as we learn more!
Persona comes to Xbox
The JRPG that takes hardcore fans months to complete is finding a new home on the Xbox. The Persona games coming are as follows:
- Persona 3
- Persona 4 Golden
- Persona 5 Royal
The latter will be released this year in October, but no word on the other two.
When it comes to games, there’s a lot to anticipate in the coming weeks, months, and years. Check back here for more coverage, hot from the presses of VIBE!
