Witcher 3: Best Armor and Weapons

There are various armor sets that can grant you great buffs in sign casting, tanking, attack power, and other various stats. While debates occur often on which is the best, here is our very own guide on different armor sets that you can find throughout the game.

Griffin Armor Set

This armor set is best for users that prefer heavy sign casting, and the diagram can be found northwest of Downwarren in a cave.

Stats:

Set Bonus features- 3/6 second sign cast within 3 seconds, will use no stamina 6/6 Yrden traps increased 40%, Stamina Regen increased by 5 seconds, Sign intensity 100 % increase, Damage reduced by 20%

Ursine Armor Set

This set is the best tank set for those who want to run a beefier build. Not only does it look good, but it focuses on maximizing defense. It can be located by buying a map from the blacksmith in Oxenfurt to find the location for the diagram. This will lead to a ruined castle near Yngvar’s Fang on Uralla. As you enter the castle, activate the switch on the opposite end of the wall. It will lead you to a cave that you can travel through to find a chest with the diagrams.

Set Bonuses- When Quen shatters, you gain a chance to cast a new one with no stamina cost. This bonus increases 5% every new piece gained. 6/6 Damage dealt by abilities involving Quen will be increased by 200%

Wolven Armor Set

The Wolven Armor set is great for people that want a little boost across the board. It’s a very middle ground set for people that have a versatile playstyle. It can be found at the Old Signal Tower with a chest inside containing a scavenger hunt. At the entrance, there will be a gap in the wall to the right with some rocks to jump to. Follow the wall to the crystal, activate it, return to the tower’s first level, and jump into the portal. There will be diagrams on the other side.

Adrenaline point gain, sign intensity, and attack power
3/6 you can use 3 oils at once on your sword. 6/6 bombs have no delay when thrown

Feline Armor

This is the best light armor, and is used by players that like fast glass cannon builds. You can purchase the map for the diagram location in northwester Blackbough from a merchant. There is a cave in Novigrad with some puzzles that lead to a golem and chest with the diagrams.

Set Bonuses 3/6 strong attacks increase fast attack damage for 5 seconds by 10% for each piece of armor in the set. 6/6 rear attacks increased by 50 percent and stun opponents for 1 stamina point

Manticore Armor Set

This armor set is available in the Blood and Wine DLC and is the best for heavy alchemy and item users. In Beauclair and head to the Grandmaster Craftsman to purchase the map. This will walk you through a scavenger hunt all over the land.

The steel sword diagram is located at the ruins of Bastoy Prison.
The silver sword diagram is located south of the Beauclair Gardens.
The armor diagram is located in a cave southeast of Gelenser Farm.
The boots and trouser diagrams are in the temple at the Prophet Lebioda statue.
The gauntlet diagram is located at the bottom of the Lake of Cleansing.

Set Bonuses 3/6 critical hit chance and damage increased for bombs, 6/6 one more charge for each alchemy item

Viper Armor

This armor set is available in the Heart and Stone DLC and is good for players that want high poison resistance. You can obtain this during the Open Sesame mission. When you find Countess Mignole’s lost earring, you unlock additional dialogue that you can’t miss. It will allow you to buy the diagrams.

Tesham Mutna Armor

This set is for those who want high bleed resistance and burning. It is available during a quest in the Blood and Wine DLC. The quest is La Cage au Fou, and the armor is at the ruins of Tesham Mutna. There will be one chest Regis leaned on in the cut scene holding the armor and another in the tower with the mask, gauntlets, and boots.
