After months of silence from the Pokémon Snap team, we finally had an update to the game that brought nostalgia to many gamers over 30. This game brought back to life, the aspiring hopes and dreams in the 90s kids’ hearts.
The colors and music played in all our minds as we looked into the future of Pokémon Snap. Our lead photographer Todd was back in the spotlight as we moved into the Lentil world of beautiful scenes and Pokémon. As I’m sure many of you did what I did, and binged on the New Pokémon Snap, unknowingly going through the content quickly.

Good news everyone! We have a bit more content to unwittingly binge once again!
Pokémon Snap has updated the game with a new mechanic for the first ‘level’ of the game. You can experience ”Shrink” in the course of the game now, activating ‘Shrink’ makes you and the NEO-ONE shrink down to the size of a Torchic! With this, you can see all kinds of new views as well as Pokémon that could be hiding!
On top of the ‘Shrink’ add-on we also have two new ‘areas’ to explore as well! Taking place on existing islands, we have a water-based and poison-based trip ahead of us.

First off is the new Mightwind River! This one will jog the nostalgic players’ minds a bit more than others. Bringing us back to the golden days of the Nintendo 64 era, we have this bustling busy waterfall filled with water and psychic types alike. You’ll see familiar faces like Magikarp and Aipom as you cruise down the river, but there will be plenty of new faces as well!

We also have a new poison-filled Barren Badlands! At first, this beautiful new course may look like just a bunch of desert and volcano-type Pokémon, but when we look closer! Ewwww, that stinks!! Poison smog takes over and allows for a whole new world of slimey, grimey Pokémon.
Come have some fun in the courses of New Pokémon Snap!
