Dead Island was one of the most loved zombie series to hit platforms. A combination of an infection outbreak, loveable characters, and a 4 player cooperative campaign, saw an enriching experience. Since then Dead Island has only produced Escape From Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. Both, act as bridges to the next part of the story which was expected to be Dead Island 2.
Dead Island was pioneering for its time so players anticipate the excitement and satisfaction of a game with upgrades. Combat mechanics could be more fluid and visuals more refined. Therefore, something similar to the graphics of dying light 1 and 2 could be created.
Why has Hope Resurfaced for a Release?
During a presentation with Embracer Group, which turns out to be Deep Silvers Parent company. The person hosting the Q&A addressed Dead Island 2. Their quote can be found below.
” expect the release this financial year, or sorry next financial year I should say.”

This has instilled newfound hope that Dead Island 2 is not a forgotten project and is still anticipated and worked on the prospect. Although this is not the concrete news that players have been dying for it, it is still sparking that newfound sense of “It’s happening!!!”
