So, chances are you’ve got that one person in your life that, no matter what the situation may be or how tired they are, they’ll always take a minute or two to stop and pet a puppy on the street. It could be in the middle of traffic, in a park, or maybe even at your aunt’s house, and they will absolutely drop everything, roll on the ground to play with the dog and yell out, “PUPPY!” (This will likely be followed by weird glances from others as you enjoy time with the dog and the person not giving a damn about these reactions.)
Well, if that’s you – or someone you know that would love dogs – then Pupperazzi is the game for you. Due for release on Xbox later this month (and also being a part of that Xbox Game Pass program), the game dares to ask the question, “Okay, so how many pictures can you take with dogs? How well can a dog do at an arcade game?”

PUPPY
Developed by Sundae Month and Kitfox Games, the game puts you in control of a person that discovers an island of animals. Now, you’d probably expect something along the lines of, say, George Orwell’s Animal Farm, but, surprise, that’s not the case. Animals thrive here and get around through Muttropolis (get it?!) and enjoy life. What’s more, they’re doing everything from enjoying socializing, playing in parks (on the swings!), and riding around on bicycles. Without a master, even!
Your main job within the game is to take pictures of these puppies. Imagine Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2 or 3, but, instead of taking shots of girls in bikinis, you’re shooting doggos. Sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it?
Over the course of the game, you’ll come across different dogs, each with their own special breed types. You can take their picture and then use a number of filters to set up the best one, and even catch them in interesting scenarios to liven things up. For example, there may be a puppy pretending he’s in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and riding around in a mine cart. It’s ridiculous, sure, but also fun!
Along the way, you can actually pet these dogs. See, your photographer apparently has a really long arm, and, though it’s not explained, it allows you to pet the dogs at your free will and give them some tender, loving care. Here we thought petting animals wouldn’t move you forward in life. Silly us.

PUPPY!
Along with being able to take pictures of dogs and engage in activities, you can go around the town and purchase new accessories, if you meet the demands for said pictures. This allows you to purchase different hats which, yes, you can put on the dogs. So, not only can you get them to star in photos, but you can get them to play dress-up as well.
There are various activities you can partake with the dogs as well. You can try to scare them off with vacuum cleaners (clearly an act for the monstrous, but whatever), or even try and see how well they play on the playground. It’s completely up to you.
You’re also able to upgrade your camera gear in Pupperazzi, so you can introduce more filters into the fold, along with other creative photo opportunities. The more you upgrade, the better shots you can take of these doggos. Oh, did we mention you can share these photos socially online? Grow a community and see who’s got the most adorable dog pictures out there. (It’s us, don’t even try to compete. I SAID DON’T TRY!)

PUPPY!!
Now, to reiterate, Pupperazzi is a photo-genic game that’s all about the dogs, though occasionally you’ll run into cats (just because?), and other opportunities to stretch that petting arm of yours. It looks wildly entertaining, especially if you love dogs, taking pictures of things, or wondering what a pet-populated city would be like. You can enjoy this title on Xbox Game Pass starting on January 20th or purchase the game and play it whenever you like. If you prefer, it’s also out on Steam.
Oh, did we say “puppy”? BECAUSE PUPPY!
