Horizon has always had an underlying message of eco friendliness and green positivity relating to the preservation of planet Earth. Horizon Forbidden West is to be no different, with a feature that once achieved Sony will plant a tree in real life for the player.
Sony’s Partnerships

Sony has partnered with Arbor Day Foundation and Eden Project to deliver two ecological friendly initiatives. This will empower players to pick up their controllers and contribute to a wider picture in the fight against issues such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution.
Arbor Day Foundation

The Arbor Day foundation has teamed up with Sony in order to implement the plantation of a tree for doing something in Forbidden West. Sony aim to plant a tree in three areas that have been hit with deforestation in the USA. Douglas County Forest (Wisconsin), Sheep Fire private lands (California), and Torrey State Park (Florida) are the main areas trees will be planted.
The specific trophy is called “Reached the Daunt” and although, not much is known about the trophy because the game is not released there are some things we do know. It’s part of the main story and is unlocked about 90 minutes in. This means most players will achieve this if they are playing on launch day. The initiative is running right up until March 25th 2022 so there is plenty of time to achieve this. Such a simple request for such a fantastic initiative is not much to ask for players.
The Arbor Day Foundation has said 288,000 trees will be needed to help fully replenish the areas with trees. Horizon Forbidden West is estimated to sell well and this should be achieved. Why not help aid the fight for our planet by picking up the game and unlocking the trophy.
Eden Day Project

Horizon has paired with Eden Project UK by designing one of Aloys shields after biome domes in Cornwall. The domes are also currently being lit up to match the colour of the new shield. The shield is nicknamed the “shieldwing” and features in Horizon Forbidden West.
The partnership has created a 12- acre habitat that hosts wildflowers in Morecambe, England. The flowers will be sown in March and will help strengthen the biodiversity and wildlife of the area. Things like butterflies, bees, and birds will be able to frolic freely.
