Throughout nearly thirty years of gameplay production, Blizzard Entertainment has taken players through Hell, to the stars, and beyond the realms of imagination. This company has given the world several household names for all kinds of players to enjoy, from the off-world planes of StarCraft to the battlefields of Overwatch. Blizzard is now preparing for the grand debut of its first fully realized mobile game. Warcraft: Arclight Rumble is Blizzard Entertainment’s latest addition to their indelible lineup of genre-defining titles and looks to bring their brand of gaming magic to mobile.
Warcraft On The Go
The Warcraft franchise began as part of the real-time strategy genre exclusive to PC gameplay. The real-time strategy game graduated into the MMO gamespace with World of Warcraft, and this was also PC exclusive. Hearthstone joined the lineup next as the first Warcraft game available to both PC and mobile devices. Warcraft: Arclight Rumble, however, will be a truly mobile experience -and the first Warcraft title without PC capabilities.
Action? Strategy? Why Not Both?

Arclight Rumble will be a mobile action strategy game with multiple facets to its gameplay. In addition to a co-op and PvP experience, these facets will include a full-length campaign across multiple dungeons and raids. Players will have to build armies to use in coordinated strikes against their foes and whether through the campaign or PvP, players will be encouraged to test multiple methods on the path to victory.
The Heroes and Villains of Azeroth
Of course, an army is nothing without its mighty warriors, and Arclight Rumble isn’t holding back when it comes to this experience. Over sixty-five miniatures will be available when the game launches, and players will have the option to collect each one. These miniatures will include a combination of heroes, villains, minions, and spells that a player can use during a battle. From what Blizzard has shown so far, there seems to be an energy cost system similar to Clash Royale in which players will deploy minis for an energy cost. If the system is like Clash Royale, the energy will refill at a certain rate during a campaign mission or a battle.

Leaders Lead
As crucial as the army, leaders are talented creatures meant to turn the tide of battle. Arclight’s leaders fall under several distinct factions: Alliance, Horde, Beast, Blackrock, and Undead. The list includes classic Warcraft heroes such as Tirion Fordring, Cairne Bloodhoof, and Grommash Hellscream. Also available to be chosen are dastardly beasts such as the fan-favorite Hogger. The undead lord of Stratholme, Baron Rivendare, is also there for players to use in their quest for victory.
You Ready to Rumble?
Blizzard Entertainment has created games for over thirty years, introducing players to numerous fantastic worlds. Universes like Diablo, Overwatch, Starcraft, and (of course) World of Warcraft have impacted the world of video games in untold ways from both consoles and PCs. Blizzard is setting out to do the same to the world of mobile gaming with their latest addition to their Warcraft franchise with Warcraft: Arclight Rumble. While not the first mobile game the company has announced, this one seems set to introduce the Warcraft universe to a new generation of players, and in an all-new fashion, too. We can’t wait to see how far this game will go!
I’m a Wonder Woman fanatic -married to my Superman- with a mild addiction to tea and World of Warcraft. One day I hope to write a book that history recognizes as a classic; it will most likely involve dragons.
