Horizon Zero Dawn was a massive hit for PlayStation that hit records for the year 2017. PC users in the year 2020 finally got to enjoy this game as well, and have been eagerly waiting with PlayStation fans for the sequel Horizon Forbidden West, which was announced last year during Sony’s PS5 reveal. However, it seems from multiple sources, including Jeff Grub on a Giant Bomb Podcast, that Sony is leaning towards delaying the game until 2022 rather than this holiday season. This means PC users will potentially be waiting even longer than PS users, seeing as Sony exclusives are just now starting to carry over.

For those who do not know about Horizon Zero Dawn, the game follows Aloy’s story. Aloy is a young girl who is an outcast to her village of the Nora Tribe and was raised by another outcast known as Rost to survive in the wilds. Set in a post-apocalyptic setting in the year 3020 where machines have taken over, Aloy finds herself slowly uncovering the truth about the history of her past as well as what happened to the world.
What we do know with Horizon Forbidden West is that we are continuing Aloy’s story. She is being sent out to find the origin of a disease that is killing everything it infects. The arcane frontier of the Forbidden West is uncharted lands that are filled with mysterious ecosystems and deadly enemies both machines and living. The gameplay will still be in 3rd person and an action RPG.
