Official Trailer, Release Date, and a New Master Chief
We’ve been given a number of memorable Halo experiences over the past few years, but one has to wonder why we haven’t gotten a TV series yet. Well, hold onto your butts because it’s about to become a reality.

During today’s NFL championship games, Paramount+ debuted a new trailer for Halo: The Series, which is set to make its debut on March 24th. If anything, it looks faithful to the lore of the video games, even if it takes a slightly different direction.
For instance, instead of actually knowing about the Halo beforehand, it looks like Master Chief and company are discovering it for the first time. Also, there appear to be other Spartans involved in helping out the Chief, as well as some potential disdain from those higher up than him in the UNSC.
So What’s Different?
One other notable item is the voice of Master Chief. Rather than using the game’s voice actor, Pablo Schreiber is stepping in as the iconic hero, with Natascha McElhone portraying Dr. Halsey. However, you shouldn’t worry, game fans, as Jen Taylor returns as the classic (if slightly different looking) Cortana. (You might’ve also spotted good ol’ Bokeem Woodbine as well!)
Whether it’ll be embraced by fans has yet to be seen, but sci-fi fans should love it. On top of that, 343’s Kiki Wolfkill already confirmed it’s not really canon with the games. So…as long as you accept that, you should be all right. (On top of that, it’s nice to have Master Chief in a popular medium outside of games, yeah?)
The series debuts in less than two months and certainly looks intriguing. The question is if it’ll live up to the hype. We’ll find out soon enough. Meantime, we have hours’ worth of Halo Infinite to dig into over on Xbox and PC.
