As we were all so excited for the October release of Evil Dead the game, the news that it will be delayed until February of 2022 did not fall on deaf ears. As many of us were asking if there was a single-player mode and if there was going to be an offline mode available.

We can now say that the developers have heard our cries of worry and are now working on a long-term fix for all players. As the rest of us that would have been happy with a multiplayer base and building onto that, but adding a single-player option will help Evil Dead reach different player bases.
As this is not your typical run-of-the-mill horror game, this game (in multiplayer mode) has you either working together as a rambunctious team of losers or hunting the humans with every inch of your devilish guile. With the quips of Bruce Campbell and his ragtag team, you can bet the humor is dialed up to DED.

It’s not a matter of, we want single player mode, it felt like the Devs left out part of a community. Single-player games have always been an important aspect of gaming. Sure it’s fun to connect with your friends and game together. But what if all your friends are busy, what if you have a hard time making online friends? Single player mode at least allows for the community to access the game.
I can see both sides of this, making a campaign for a small number of people might not seem important to a big company. Yet when you making games that are pivotal in the gaming industry or in this case, a history of comedy horror, you have to expect to reach for corners of the community most gaming companies wouldn’t think of.
As an Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell fan, I personally will be very excited to see what this game has to offer. If they need to take time to make sure this game is accessible to everyone, so be it. Makes for a great Valentine’s date.
See you then Brucey!
