Liurnia of the Lakes is arguably the biggest area of the game as previously mentioned, and the Western portion has the most content of the three areas. This area will consist of some major areas that will effect late game content, and main story content. This article will cover every boss located in the western portion of the map.
Mini Dungeon Bosses
Cleanrot Knight

Health: N/A
Drops: 3,300 Runes, Winged Sword Insignia, Cleanrot Knight’s Sword
Weakness: Fire, Lightning
Immunity: Slash, Scarlet Rot, Poison, Holy
Location: Stillwater Cave
This particular boss is not too difficult, but he can severely punish if players are too greedy. He wields a bug spear that deals scarlet rot damage. The best method is to pick your hits carefully and aim for backstabs. Summons can serve as a great distraction for those who need it. Note that when he glows and raises his spear, he will aim to impale you, and, if you get greedy with attacking, he will shove you off and punish you.
When he uses his thrust attack, it is very easy to dodge, but it can be deadly for melee fighters. Dodge sideways and land a couple of hits. Try to keep behind him for back stabs and choose your openings carefully. If you attack too many times, he telegraphs his shove by crossing his weapons to block. If you are carefully enough, you can bait him into his thrust move and try to backstab.
Magic users will need to be careful with spacing and distancing. The thrust attack and his other moves have a very decievingly long range and can deal you a lot of damage. Try to keep as far back as your spells allow and do not spam them. Use summons a distraction to keep his attention away from you as you attack.
Bloodhound Knight

Health: N/A
Drops: 3,600 Runes, Cerulean Amber Medallion
Weakness: N/A
Immunity: N/A
Location: Lakeside Crystal Cave
Note that this boss has a similar moveset to Darriwil, meaning he will be just as aggressive with his rapid melee attacks. This boss will deal bleed damage and leave little room for attacking or blocking. The best openings are as he drags his weapons along the ground. Try not to block due to the bleed meter and the fact that he just might shield break you. Melee users should keep staunching bluses on hand and should avoid utilizing backstabs due to its awkward posture and not being able to land them.
Due to how fast the movement is for this boss and how quickly he can break the distance to attack you, magic users should utilize summons like Lone Wolf Ashes. It is also recommended to use fast and high damage spells like Carian Piercer since slow cast spells like Spell Shot will lead to your punishment.
Crystalians

Health: N/A
Drops: 3,300 Runes, Crystal Release
Weakness: Strike, Standard
Immunity: Stab, Thrust, Poison, Scarlet Rot, Bleed, Frostbite, All Elemental
Location: Academy Crystal Cave
As previously mentioned, this boss is resistant to melee attacks until you break her. Backstabs are not recommended since they do not help to chip away her health fast and efficiently. Melee users should attack fast but be mindful to dodge and not take unnecessary damage. Eventually, she will stagger as her armor breaks and will take damage normally.
Magic users will have an easier time as long as they keep their distance. Using spells like Glintstone Pebble will break their armor faster. Summons can be used as a distraction like Lone Wolf Ashes to keep the boss from targeting you.
Spirit-Caller Snail

Health: N/A
Drops: 3,000 Runes, Glinstone Sorcerer Ashes
Weakness: Everything
Immunity: None
Location: Road’s End Catacombs
This biggest issue with this boss is that it is invisible until you find and hit it or kill their summons that usually pack a punch. This snail in particular summons two Crucible Knights, but the fight can be entirely avoided. Look for the white in the corner on the ground and attack there to damage the snail. He will die fast since he is weak to any attacks; just be mindful of the other knights since they deal a lot of damage. It is not recommended to attack the summons since the snail will just summon more anyway.
Evergaols
Adan, Thief of Fire

Health: N/A
Drops: 3,800 Runes, Flame of the Fell God
Weakness: N/A
Immunity: N/A
Location: Malefactor’s Evergaol
Adan is one of the easier Evergaols since all of his spells are relegraphed by a red rune. He has one quick attack called Catch Flame and a long cast attack that melee users can take advantage of. Once the red rune appears the player should dodge away immediatley if he casts Catch Flame. His attacks will add a bleed effect, but luckily he can be stunned easily with heavy weapons.
Magic users will have an easier time since they attack from a distance anyway. During the long cast attack magic users can punish with bunch of spells during his casting phase.
Bols, Carian Knight

Health: N/A
Drops: 4,600 Runes
Weakness: Slash, Poison, Scarlet Rot, Bleed
Immunity: Magic, Frostbite
Location: Cuckoo’s Evergaol
Bols is another very easy fight, mostly due to his size and the space between his legs to dodge. The best strategy for all classes is to keep under his legs and behind him since all of his attacks are aimed in front of him. Keep close and do not create any distance between you two, especially since his attacks have great range.
Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader

Health: N/A
Drops: 80,000 Runes, Black Knife Tiche
Weakness: Standard, Slash, Thrust, Frostbite
Immunity: Holy, Strike, Bleed, Scarlet Rot, Poison
Location: Ringleader’s Evergaol
Alecto is fast and hits hard, leaving little openings and no chance of blocking. You must dodge if you want to survive, especially as a melee user. No less than 25 vigor is recommended, especially Ashes of War to help with distraction. Glintblade Phalanx will help stagger around four hits to help get some more damage in since she has a lot of HP. Melee users specifically can look for her leap attack to punish her, however be cautious due to the fact that she has two leap attacks and one of them is a deadly AOE.
Magic users will have a rough time unless they are packed with 10-12 flasks and have at least 20 dumped into Mind. This boss again has a lot of health and hits hard so you will need a lot of spells at your disposal, more specifically spells that hit more than once since she can dodge spells easily. Using the Sword of Night and flame weapon art is extremely useful when she rushes into at close range as long as you keep a good distance. Using Phalanx spells are good for dealing poise damage since she has very little poise at well. They may not do much damage to her health, but you can stagger her fast to get in some serious damage.
There is one cheese strategy, and that’s breaking her AI standing on a rock. Once you enter the arena, jump on the rock to the left of where she spawns. She is unable to get to you unless she leaps onto in, in which case you can hop off and steer her away from the rock. Run back on after and continue to hit her with ranged damage.
NPC Invaders
Edgar the Revenger

Health: N/A
Drops: 316 Runes, Furlcalling Finger Remedy, Shabriri Grape, Banished Knight’s Halberd +8, Raw Meat Dumpling x5
Weakness: N/A
Immunity: N/A
Location: Revenger’s Shack
You might recognize Edgar from Castle Morne, who invades you at the Revenger’s Shack site of grace as soon as you rest. It is said he became frenzied and corrupted by revenge, and wields a pretty nasty +8 Halberd. He is not too difficult of a fight, and can be missed if you activate the site before doing his quest line in Weeping Peninsula.
Area Bosses
Deathbird

Health: 2,750
Drops: 6,600 Runes, Red-feathered Branchsword
Weakness: Strike, Holy, Scarlet Rot
Immunity: Lightning, Thrust, Bleed, Poison, Frostbite
Location: Southern Liurnia
Again the big bird with a giant cane, however luckily it is the same fight as before. Keep down the attack patterns by dodging through his sweeps and side to side for his thrusts. Attack during openings and be mindful of your endurance. Horse combat is highly suggested as before.
Death Rite Bird

Health: 2,750
Drops: 7,800 Runes, Ancient Death Rancor
Weakness: Strike, Holy
Immunity: Lightning, Thrust, Bleed, Poison, Frostbite, Scarlet Rot
Location: South of Gale Town
This is one of the few bosses that mounted combat on Torrent will get you killed due to it’s attacks, so fight the Bird on foot. Faith builds will have a field day since it is weak to holy damage. Melee users should try to use a faith scaling weapon like Coded Sword and Winged Scythe, and should stick underneath of the boss to avoid a lot of deadly attacks. If you see him fly away quickly, mount up and run away to avoid its attacks. Note that if you have little points in Vigor a lot of this bosses attacks will one shot you. Magic users need to be very careful, since keeping close can be just as dangerous as creating distance.
Glinstone Dragon Smarag

Health: 6,069
Drops: 14,000 Runes, Dragon Heart
Weakness: Thrust
Immunity: Magic
Location: West of the Academy
To fight this particular dragon, it is recommended that all classes wear protective gear against magic and use incantations like Barrier Gold if possible. Like any dragon you want to keep mounted and aim for the head so you can keep up with it if it flies off and deal some good damage. He will deal a lot of magic damage and be highly resistant to magic, so magic users will have a significantly harder time unless they can use incantations like Rock Sling. Melee users should keep an eye out for his physical attacks like his Tail Sweep and Stomps, and, if he flies off, he will either dive into the fight or use his fire attack from the skies, so mount up and run toward his right to avoid it.
Erdtree Avatar

Health: 14,992
Drops: 5,800 Runes, Cerulean Crystal Tear, Ruptured Crystal Tear
Weakness: Fire, Frostbite, Strike
Immunity: Holy, Scarlet Rot, Bleed, Poison
Location: Along the west main road
Mounted combat is again suggested since armor weight is nullified on your horse. Erdtree’s can be easy with fire at your disposal if you are able to use a grease or incantations. Magic users can kite these beasts on foot or on horse, but be wary of its jump attack where it summons Holy Rays that act as homing missiles. They can easily ruin your entire set up when fighting this giant tree monster. For unmounted melee users, be mindful of its sweep attacks and mace slams that can easily one shot you. Dodge through the sweep and side to side when it slams the weapon downwards. When you see the homing holy missiles summoned, find cover or run sideways. This fight is all about dodging correctly and trying to nuke the boss with fire if possible.
Omenkiller

Health: N/A
Drops: 4,900 Runes, Crucible Knot Talisman
Weakness: Physical, Bleed, Frostbite
Immunity: Fire, Poison, Scarlet Rot
Location: Village of the Albinaurics
Before doing anything for this fight, players should look to see three dogs that can be easily killed without aggroing the boss. If you try to fight them all at once the dogs will eat you alive. There is one near the ramp that can be killed off with range, and a second one near the house that can be pulled. A third one is behind the tree near the boss, and can be pulled but it is better to leave it alone and just pull the boss away from the tree. Luckily Miyzaki made it a bit easier for players as opposed to Capra Demons in the original Dark Souls.
Once engaged with the boss there are two attacks to keep an eye on, the first being the flame breath attack which can be easily dodged but extremely deadly, and his jump chain. The jump chain will flat out kill light armor wearers and even stagger heavy armor. Dodging is the best method and using strong attacks for an opening will help since he has low poise. Using Ashes will help serve as a distraction, and bleed and frost damage will help kill him faster.
Raya Lucaria Academy
Red Wolf of Radagon

Health: 2,204
Drops: 14,000 Runes, Memory Stone
Weakness: Slash, Madness, Deathblight
Immunity: Magic, Bleed, Frostbite, Holy, Lightning
Location: Academy
This boss is extremely aggressive leaving no room to breath with his sword swing combos, leap attacks, and dagger projectiles. The fight is essentially trading blows, where you block a hit or two, dodge, and then attack a couple times. Using Spirit Summons will help serve as a distraction, especially for magic users. Melee magic like Carian Slicer will work the best since he will constantly break the distance between you two without help. Lightning Spear is a good spell for Incantation users.
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

Health: Part 1- 3,493 Part 2- 4,097
Drops: 40,000 Runes, Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen, Great Rune of the Unborn
Weakness: Standard, Slash, Thrust
Immunity: Magic, Status Effects
Location: Academy
Attacks:
Comet Azur: She casts a huge energy beam
Glintstone Stars: She tilts her staff and casts four energy drops
Shattering Crystal: She throws a burst of energy at you with her hand
Full Moon: She summons a giant comet that slowly heads towards you
Rennala is actually a lot easier than the previous fight, but is longer with the second phase. During her first phase she will be suspended in air with a protective barrier, and there will be a lot of weird looking students on the ground to defend her. Some will attack, some will cast fire, some will break the ceiling, and then there are three that are casting her barrier. You need to rush and kill those three as fast as possible, and they will die fast. Once they are killed, you can attack her freely, and bleeding will kill her the fastest. She will eventually get back in her barrier, but you just repeat the process until she is “defeated” in her first phase. During her second phase, she will be fighting head on with magic and summons. When she shoots her magic blast at you, roll at an angle to dodge out of the way and get behind her. She will still be casting so you can really punish her here. She will also summon her Full Moon, which is a slowly moving comet that plunges at you. It can be very easily dodged. What makes this fight actually difficult is the summons she uses. They start off as four wolves and eventually turn into a giant and then she summons a dragon. The best way to handle the fight is to kill her fast and with summons like Lone Wolf Ashes. Rock Sling is another good option against her for incantation users.
