Apex Construct is one of the more interesting single player games for VR. It’s a post-apocalypse mystery. Also, some of the best bow mechanics I’ve seen yet!
A Mystery Wrapped In An Enigma

The story is the main draw here. You awaken in a mysterious world of oddly broken buildings and debris. Guided by an AI you start to learn more about the world around you as you explore. Eventually you get a fancy bow to defend yourself against the army of machines populating the landscape.
Soon, however, you discover that the AI guiding you has some secrets, and the appearance of another AI has you questioning which side has your best interest in mind.
Along the way, you’ll be sent out on missions to find parts, explore, and fight robots. All the while, unraveling the mystery of what happened to this world, and whether you can fix it. I can’t go any further without giving anything away, and this mystery is worth the playthrough.
Ready. Aim. Fire.

To help you in your travels, you are given an upgradable bow and a shield. Apex Construct is one of the best bow-based games I’ve seen to date. It’s smooth, there is decent drop off, and it’s just fun.
This game is all about finding secrets and clues. Even when sent on missions, the world is begging for exploration. Although, despite having two AI vying for your attention, there is a distinct feeling of isolation. Almost on the level of a survival-horror game. All this really adds to the feeling that you are the last human left.
Apex Construct is a surprisingly fun and intriguing game. It is well designed, and the story will keep you guessing. Not to mention the fun of shooting a robot right in the face with cyber-arrows! It is totally worth checking out.
